  • Use iron only for intended use.
  • The iron is intended to rest on the 'heel', don't rest it on sides.
  • Do not leave the iron on an unprotected surface while on.
  • Turn off when not in use.
  • Burn Hazard. Don't touch the soleplate when it's been on and for significant time afterwards to allow for cooling.
  • Steam Burn Hazard. Take care when refilling a hot iron. Do not overfill beyond the maximum fill line.

Sunbeam Ironing Hints and Tips

  • Read the label of the fabric so you know the temperature to use. When in doubt, use the lowest setting.
  • Make sure your iron is clean before use.
  • Use long straight strokes. Wiggling can stretch the fabric.
  • Iron around decorative objects, zippers, buttons, sequins, glitter, fine lace.
  • Avoid iron sheen by ironing the garment inside out.
  • Use bobby pins to secure pleats.
  • Hang or fold immediately after ironing.
  • Iron down the center of sleeves instead of along the seam.
  • Iron clean fabrics.
  • Iron 100% cotton while it's damp.
