Sawgrass SG1000 Sublimation Printer

Prints onto special paper and that is applied to a surface with heat. Fabrics and objects that lay flat can use the heat press. Shaped objects need a compression sleeve and the oven. This process will print well on dark fabrics.

Overall Process

1. Prepare your artwork
2. Select appropriate heat sublimation paper

   • Normal heat transfer paper
   • High Temperature Vinyl (HTV) (e.g. Sisser Easy Subli)

3. Print the artwork
4. Turn on the heat source to the appropriate temperature for your work

   • Heatpress
     • Normal transfer paper
       • 100% Polyester cloth: 385 degrees
       • 50/50 Cotton Poly blend 340 degrees
     • High Temperature Vinyl
       • 311 degrees
     • Polyester coated flat blank thing
       • ??
   • Oven
     • ??

5. Prepare the blank's surface

   • Cloth - press flat in the heat press
   • Oven - be sure the blank has a polyester coating

6. Position artwork on blank

   • Cloth - hold in place with special heat-safe tape, or use Eco-mist "tacky spray"
   • Odd shape - hold in place with special heat shrink sleeve

7. Transfer the image

   • Heatpress
     • Cloth
       • With regular transfer paper: 45 seconds of moderate pressure
       • With Sisser Easy Subli HTV: 15 seconds
     • Polyester blank: 45 seconds
   • Oven
     • ??

8. Carefully remove the item - IT IS HOT!
9. Allow to cool and peel off the transfer backing
