Use of this template will also add the containing page to the category MN Decommissioned Equipment.

Tips for using this template:

1. When possible, mention alternatives to the decommissioned equipment, as in Example 2 above. A link to an anchor on a shop area page may be more robust to future equipment changes than a direct link to a page for the alternative equipment itself.
2. Consider removing, or commenting out, details that are inapplicable ("location" line in MN asset record, link up to shop area page) or irrelevant (serial number) for decommissioned equipment. If the information does become relevant for some reason (e.g., we sell or donate some tool after upgrading to a different model; then the tool gets stolen from the new owner, who asks whether we know the serial number), we can recover it from the page history.
3. Use "What links here" in the "Page tools" menu to look for pages that reference the decommissioned equipment, and modify them as appropriate.
