I found a recipe for making your own Worbla-like sheets. Is it worth the savings? I guess it depends upon you.

His recipe can make two types of Worbla-like material. One with wheat flour is smooth and pliable. One with wood shavings has a much rougher surface but he says it is stronger.

Ingredients

*Instamorph (a PCL product)
*Wheat Flour OR  Pet Wood Shavings

Pre heat your oven to 125C (260F).

If using the Wood Shavings you have to put them in a blender and grind them up very fine. He recommends an 0.5mm particle size.

The ratio of PCL to filler is 4:1 <u>by weight</u>. (Warbla reportedly is 7:3 but that mix is hard to achieve at home.) He recommends 150 grams of PCL for your first batch.

Place the PCL and filler in a neat pile in an ovenproof glass baking dish. Put the pile in the oven for 10 minutes.

Take the mix out of the oven - be careful it's hot! When it cools enough to handle it, perhaps wearing gloves, knead it repeatedly until the mixture is uniform. This will take a while. If it cools too much to work, then put it back in the over for a few mintues.

Once the mixture is uniform, then put it back in the oven for 10 minutes.

Take the mix out and use a rolling pin to spread it out. Try to roll it out, not stretch it out. Again, put it back in the over for a minute if it gets too cool to work.

A 150g mix should make a sheet the size of a dinner plate.
