== Description ==

The bernette 35 is a mechanical sewing machine with no computerized controls. The width, length and pattern of the stitch is easily set by turning the three knobs. The tension can be adjusted during sewing, using an easily accessible wheel. The bernette 35 also has an automatic, 1-step buttonhole function, which is quick and easy to use.

Maker Nexus has acquired six of these beginner-level machines, so that having like machines will make it easier to teach classes and project days. (Of course, participants are still welcome to bring their own familiar machines if they prefer.)

The bobbin loading system is somewhat nonstandard. Follow the tutorials, user manual, or your teacher's advice. If you start out on the b35 and move up to some other machine, be prepared to learn a new routine.

Reviews report that buttonholes come out slightly larger than needed.
