'''New non-profit makerspace on the peninsula'''
'''New non-profit makerspace in Sunnyvale'''

Maker Nexus has been working since November to organize a new makerspace between Redwood City and Sunnyvale. We aim to open the doors May 1 of this year. We are adding members, negotiating a location, accumulating equipment, and soliciting donations and corporate partners.
In April, Maker Nexus opened a new non-profit makerspace in Sunnyvale!

Our mission is to provide education in woodworking, textiles, metalworking, and other vocational skills and hobby crafts, and promote the same in the community. We do this by providing a community makerspace that serves all experience levels from hobbyists to professionals. Our goal is to help each person improve their skills whether as STEAM/STEM teen, life enrichment, job skill acquisition, or new entrepreneur.

Hi,

Are you a maker or a crafter? Have you ever wanted a place to make things? A woodshop, textiles, a laser cutter, 3D printer? Better and bigger tools than you have at home? A place populated with other people making things? A place for your kids to get some hands-on maker experience? A place where you can learn to use these tools?

I'm part of a new non-profit organization that just opened a new makerspace in Sunnyvale. We been planning this for 12 months and now we're real. We need to grow our membership.

I'm excited to be part of this new organization, and I think we can do a lot of good for the community. Join us and be part of the fun.

Have you ever wanted to make something but didn't know how? Didn't have the tools? Needed some help to get going?

Makerspaces are incredible places where a mix of artists, engineers, and hobbyists get together to work on their latest ideas. The multi disciplinary environment makes for creative solutions to the problems at hand.

We are a community non-profit with a new makerspace in Sunnyvale. Woodshop, laser cutters, textiles, 3D printers, electronics, and more. Don't know how to use a tablesaw? Don't know how to work a 3D printer? Don't worry, we have classes on all this, from beginner to expert. We also have several Summer camps for kids from 6 to 17 years old.

Come visit the makerspace and see what all the excitement is about. Everyone is welcome. 234 East Caribbean Drive, Sunnyvale. Open Wednesday - Sunday 10AM - 10PM.

Square democratized credit card transactions and their first prototype was created in a makerspace. Who knows what revolutionary ideas will come from the people who join our makerspace.

Were you a TechShop member in the Bay Area? Are you in making withdrawal since they closed their doors? Are you looking for a woodshop, metalshop, or just a laser cutter? I'm part of a new non-profit organization working to open a new maker-space on the lower peninsula. We been planning this for a few months and our plans are now public. We need to grow our membership to get the shop open.
